Our Organisation

Busselton Pride Alliance Inc. is a queer led not-for-profit community group based in the City of Busselton. We exist to help give visibility, voice and advocacy to our community in the southwest. 

We work to improve the lives of LGBTQIA+ people and to ensure that issues relevant to LGBTQIA+ community are not overlooked or misunderstood by policy makers. We offer our experience and expertise to community leaders, workplace trainers, teachers, and health professionals in addressing LGBTQIA+ issues.

Strategic Objectives

• To promote and provide a platform for LGBTQIA+ community of Busselton and surrounding areas to showcase their talents and voices through acts of celebration, commemoration, grassroots action and advocacy;
  
  

• To improve the self esteem, health status and representation of the LGBTQIA+ community of all ages in the public sphere;
  
  

• To make visible the meaningful and positive contribution WA’s LGBTQIA+ community make to the wider community; and
  
  

• To advocate for safe, inclusive community spaces, workplaces, businesses and schools.
  
  

Our Structure

• Busselton Pride Alliance is an incorporated association registered with the WA Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, and we operate under the Model Rules and the Associations Incorporation Act 2015.
  
  

• Our board members are all long term LGBTQ+ rights campaigners and come from a range of professions including health science, creative arts, small business owners, mental health services, and a former Federal Senator.
  
  

• While our board and event helpers are all volunteers, we take our roles and professionalism seriously as we engage with Local and State Government departments and local businesses.
